A year in review 2018

This has been an odd year for me. It started off with being laid off. Then spending the next several months looking for new work. Which I did find, and then most of the rest of the year was learning as much as I could about the new job and working. All of which cut deeply into my writing and painting time. I hope that the new year goes much more smoothly and I can get back into a regular schedule of writing and painting.

What I have written about

I have written a number of reviews for various Savage Worlds books including the new edition of the rules. I also began the year with some character journals based on games that I am playing in, but that trickled off as I hunted for work.

Miniatures Painted

This year, I didn’t do as much painting as last year. I have only finished seven miniatures, mostly items that I picked up from the Bones 3 Kickstarter when they showed up in their store, but also a pair of metal ones. I also started, but have not finished working on the Cackler miniature. I am happy with how it is coming along though. This next year though I will have to paint more than I ever have in a year if I am going to work through all of the Bones 4 miniatures. I am also thinking about getting a paint gun to try especially for the larger miniatures or the bulk miniatures.

In Closing

It has been a hectic year with lots of distractions and worry to start with, followed by getting my arms around a large number of life changes. I hope that the new year goes a lot more smoothly with no dramatic upheavals so I can get back to a more normal schedule of reading, painting, and writing.
